Megan Taylor is stepping into Broadway Does Disney at the last minute to replace Tricia Burns (Fat Camp, My Big Gay Italian Wedding), who has withdrawn due to illness. She joins Helen Hayes Award winner Brian Childers (Danny and Sylvia) and Kimberly Faye Greenberg (One Night with Fanny Brice, Ghostlight at NYMF). Broadway Does Disney is a one-night cabaret performance to benefit Theatrical Gems.

Broadway Does Disney presents an evening of songs from your favorite Disney flicks that have yet to hit the Great White Way. The talented friends and supporters of Theatrical Gems sing the hits of Disney that introduced musicals to generations of outstanding young artists.

The performance includes songs from The Jungle Book, Tangled, Lady and the Tramp, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Bedknobs and Broomsticks, Pinocchio, Hercules, and more. The event will be held at The Duplex Cabaret Theatre, 61 Christopher Street, on Friday, October 21 at 7:00 PM.

Walt Disney has a long, storied relationship with music, from inventing the movie soundtrack album to the abstract experiment that was Fantasia. Some of the best and brightest composers have contributed to the Disney songbook and the company has racked up 42 Academy Awards and nominations for its music, more than almost any other film studio. While a handful of these beautiful songs have made it to the live stage, the majority exist only on film. In Broadway Does Disney, some of these songs will finally be given the live performance they deserve.

In addition to Childers, Greenberg, and Taylor, the performer lineup features Gregory Couba, Kate Gosnell, Julianna Gutierrez, Christina Noone, Alex Pearlman, Michael Puglia, Vincent Ricciardi, Michal Salonia, Sarah Caldwell Smith, Spencer AnDrew Taylor, Bradley Vile and Emily D. Wright, with musical direction by Steven H. Taylor. The Chorus, a group of young performers making their cabaret debuts, includes Patrick Dutton, Lisa Lauto, Timothy McMillan, Emily Mulholland, Kelsey Pierce, and Benjamin Chambers, who appeared in Theatrical Gems's Broadway For Broke People.
Tickets are $15 plus a two-drink minimum and can be reserved online at www.theduplex.com or by calling (212) 255-5438. Tickets will be purchased at the door.

Theatrical Gems strives to educate audiences about the past, present, and future of theater. Through the entertaining and engaging presentation of popular classics, new works, and underappreciated relics, we hope to expand horizons and tastes with the goal of preserving these works of art for future generations of theatergoers. Theatrical Gems is a sponsored project of Fractured Atlas, a non-profit arts service organization.
