Liza Minnelli Awarded France's Legion of Honor

Broadway legend Liza Minnelli was just awarded France's Legion of Honor at a ceremony hosted by Culture Minister Frederic Mitterrand. According to USA Toay, Minnelli commented: "What I'm really, really so honored about is to be a part of France, to be a part of the city and the country of my dreams.Thank you for giving this wonderful tennis game of life that we have going together."

Minnelli last starred on Broadway in Liza's at The Palace...! which earned a Tony Award for Best Special Theatrical Event. Minnelli has won a total of three Tony Awards awards, including a Special Tony Award. She has also won an Oscar, an Emmy Award, two Golden Globes and a Grammy Legend Award for her contributions and influence in the recording field, along with many other honors and awards. She is one of the few entertainers who have won an Oscar, Emmy, Grammy, and Tony Award.

Minnelli is currently on a European summer concert tour. Remaining tour dates are as follows:

July 11: Olympia in Paris
July 13: Arena Santa Giuliana in Italy;
July 15: Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland
July 17: State Opera House in Vienna
Aug. 2-3: Sporting Club in Monte Carlo
