The eclectic songbook of composer/lyricist Tyler Phillips returns to the Laurie Beechman Theater on August 2nd at 9:30 for an unforgettable evening of selections dedicated to the Greatest City on Earth. Please call the venue at (212) 695-6909 to reserve your seats in advance. There is a $10 cover plus a $15 food/drink minimum.

Tyler's music, influenced by anything between and beyond the sounds of Broadway and Bob Dylan, has been heard across the country at the Sundance Film Festival, The York Theater (NYC), The Zachary Scott Theater Center (Austin), on the HBO Family Channel, and at many concert halls and clubs. This one-night-only concert features songs derived from observations made along the author's own journey as a young writer from Bergheim, Texas to the Capital of the World.

"The Music and Lyrics of Tyler Phillips: (a)Live in NYC" will be the eighth show in the Name 'N Lights Cabaret Series which Phillips and, long-time friend and collaborator, Ashley Monroe currently run to promote the new works of theatre writers in NYC. Since 2009, The Name 'N Lights shows have been a platform not only for new writers but also for performers looking to explore the uncharted territories of new theatre works.

Emily Kinney (Broadway's Spring Awakening and August: Osage County, National Tour) is just one of the names on the exciting list of NYC performers singing Tyler's work this coming Monday. Emily will also kick off Monday's show by debuting one of her own original songs. The "(a)Live in NYC" cast includes Conly Basham, Derek Carley, Emily Dey, Kaitlin Doughty, Brad Giovanine, Chris Gleim, Emily Kinney, Ashley Klanac, Renee Rakelle, Katie Reid, Aaron Umsted, and Arthur Wise. The singers will be backed by a live band featuring Jason Burrow (Piano), Jeff Gretz (Drums), Russell Jones (Guitar), and Ryan McKenna (Bass).
