King Kong swings into Meadow Brook Theatre with a slew of stars for Michigan premiere of "Kong's Night Out"

Extended Stay Hotels presents a Meadow Brook Theatre production of Cindy Williams and Eddie Mekka starring in "Kong's Night Out," running February 11 - March 8 on the campus of Oakland University in Rochester

Have you ever wondered what was going on in the hotel room when King Kong's "hand" reached in and grabbed Ann Darrow before hauling her to the top of the Empire State Building? Here's your chance to find out. "Kong's Night Out," a star-studded, new comedy, written and directed by Jack Neary, takes the audience to the night King Kong escaped, but focuses on the farce in the hotel room before the giant ape arrives. There are secret notes, mistaken identities and slamming doors to spare in this perfect escape to the mid-winter blahs.

Meadow Brook Theatre is pleased to welcome the return of Cindy Williams in the role of Sally Charmaine. Ms. Williams, best known from television's "Laverne and Shirley" was a hit in last season's in "Nunsense." She enjoyed her trip to Rochester so much that, this time, she brought her friends. Eddie Mekka, best known as Shirley's boyfriend, Carmine, on the television show, joins her onstage as Sig Higgenbottom. In addition, second generation talents with recognizable names are joining the fun. Kady Zadora (Daisy) and Christo Savalas (Little Willie) are pleased to make their Meadow Brook debuts.

The cast is rounded out by Michigan artists, including Christopher Howe (Myron Siegel), Teri Clark Linden (Bertrillle Siegel), Wayne David Parker (Carl Denham), Rusty Mewha (Jack Driscoll) and Katie Nabors (Ann Darrow).

Playwright Jack Neary is directing the Meadow Brook Theatre production of his play. He is a playwright, director, theatrical producer, actor and teacher, and making his Meadow Brook Theatre directorial. "I'm excited to be in Michigan with this talented cast," Mr. Neary said. "I know the audience will have a great time."

Terry W. Carpenter, Meadow Brook Theatre's associate director, is the stage manager. The design team includes: sets by Kristen Gribbin, costumes by Corey T. Globke, lighting by Reid G. Johnson and sound by Mike Duncan.

Tickets range from $24 to $39 and are available by calling the Meadow Brook Theatre box office at 248-377-3300 or online through TicketMaster at www.ticketmaster.com.
