Jay Leno will take his final bow as TONIGHT SHOW host on February 6 sources have confirmed to Deadline.

Leno's departure is poised to capitalize upon the ensured ratings-boost of the 2014 winter Sochi Olympics, with Jimmy Fallon's first night as host set for Monday, February 24th. LATE NIGHT WITH SETH MEYERS will premiere at 12:30 a.m. immediately after.

Sources have also confirmed that current TONIGHT SHOW staffers will be paid through September, when Leno's original contract expires.

At the Television Critics Association press tour last month, NBC Entertainment chairman Bob Greenblatt insisted the network was intent on keeping Leno in some capacity.

"Nothing would make us happier than to have him -- a la Bob Hope -- stay on the network," he said. "Jay has done an incredible job for more than two decades."

Leno will have hosted THE TONIGHT SHOW for 22 years when he steps down. As part of the transition, THE TONIGHT SHOW will be returning to its original home in 30 Rock in New York and will be executive-produced by Emmy Award winner Lorne Michaels ("Saturday Night Live," "30 Rock").
