According to a new interview with Theatre du Chatelet's Jean-Luc Choplin, the renown Paris theater will be taking on yet another musical by Stephen Sondheim in their upcoming 2013-14 season, none other than INTO THE WOODS.

Currently, Julian Ovenden stars as Georges in a quite unique new production of Sondheim and James Lapine's Pulitzer Prize-winning SUNDAY IN THE PARK WITH GEORGE, directed by Lee Blakely, complete with radically reconceived Chromolume, an orchestra of 46 and more.

Also, don't miss BroadwayWorld's InDepth InterView with Julian Ovenden later this week for even more about the reworked new production.

Given the grand nature of the previous productions in the Choplin-called "Sondheim cycle," it would be safe to assume the upcoming INTO THE WOODS will be a show to see for Sondheim enthusiasts around the world.

Of course, INTO THE WOODS has grown popular of late, a credit to the fairy tale boom in other mediums - the multi-Tony Award-winning musical was presented in the UK at London's Regent's Park Theatre in 2010 in a production which transferred to the Delacorte Theatre in Central Park in 2012 and now a feature film version, set to be directed by CHICAGO's Rob Marshall and starring film icon Meryl Streep as The Witch, is reportedly set to start shooting in a matter of months.

Previously at Theatre du Chatelet, Choplin has presented Sondheim and Hugh Wheeler's A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC, as well as their SWEENEY TODD and the Leonard Bernstein/Sondheim/Arthur Laurents WEST SIDE STORY.
