Harry on Broadway CD Set Includes The Pajama Gama OCR

The original cast recording of the Roundabout Theatre Company's smash revival of The Pajama Game, starring Harry Connick Jr. and Kelli O'Hara, will come with something extra--almost a dozen songs from Connick Jr.'s 2001 Broadway musical Thou Shalt Not.

The 2-CD set, released on the Columbia Records label, will comprise the revival cast recording of The Pajama Game--in which Connick Jr. sets audiences swooning as leading man Sid Sorokin--and Connick Jr.'s performances of new versions of eleven songs from Thou Shalt Not.

Thou Shalt Not marked the Broadway debut of Connick Jr.--who for years has been a popular jazz singer and film actor--as a composer/lyricist. An updated version of Zola's Therese Raquin set in '40s New Orleans, the musical was directed and choreographed by Susan Stroman and featured Craig Bierko, Kate Levering and Norbert Leo Butz, among others. Despite its pedigree, the musical only lasted for 33 previews and 85 regular performances on Broadway. A limited release cast recording was marketed through (and is still available at) Amazon.com.

The Pajama Game, currently playing a sold-out limited run at the American Airlines Theatre, also features Michael McKean and Megan Lawrence leading its cast. Directed and choreographed by Kathleen Marshall, the revival of the classic 1954 musical, with music and lyrics by Richard Adler and Jerry Ross and a book by George Abbott and Richard Bissell, marks Connick Jr.'s Broadway debut as a performer.

Both the first and second CDs will feature songs from The Pajama Game, with the second also including the songs from Thou Shalt Not.
