HAMILTON Ruled Ineligible for 2016 BroadwayWorld Chicago Awards
By: Misha Davenport
Looks like the cast and crew of Hamilton will have to wait a bit before they take their shot --at least when it comes to the BroadwayWorld Chicago 2016 Awards.
The Broadway World Chicago awards committee has determined that Hamilton, which began preview performances Sept. 27, 2016, will not be eligible for the Broadway World Chicago awards until next year due to the show's official press opening of Oct. 19, 2016 being after the the Sept. 30, 2016 cut off for the 2016 awards.
Nominations for the 2016 awards will soon begin and feature resident Equity, resident Non-Equity and Touring productions. The 2016 awards will be handed out in January 2017.
