Tony Award-winning stage and screen notable Glenn Close is looking likely to join a collection of similarly accomplished leading ladies byway of an appearance on FX's hit horror anthology series AMERICAN HORROR STORY: COVEN according to a new cast listing.

IMDB lists Close as appearing in the season finale of the witch-themed third season of the show, titled "The Seven Wonders".

Furthermore, the site lists Close as appearing in the guise of a character named Ophelia in the episode, undoubtedly yet another Shakespearean wink in the vein of Sarah Paulson's S3 character, Cordelia - the former from HAMLET, the latter from KING LEAR, of course.

While details on the final episodes of the season and Close's assumed upcoming appearance are scare and have not yet been confirmed, Close certainly seems an ideal fit for the series which has found much success in showcasing actresses of a certain age.

Of note, series star Jessica Lange has recently revealed next season will be her last and she will have a reduced role on it, while Kathy Bates and Angela Bassett are already confirmed to return for another go-round in Season Four, planned to air at the end of this year.

So, will the woman who won two Emmy Awards as the nefarious and iconic Patty Hewes on DAMAGES soon be clearing her mantle for another honor in a horrific new TV role? Stay tuned to see!
