Frisco Community Theatre (FCT) will be presenting the musical Drama Desk Winner, The Last 5 Years by Jason Robert Brown. This modern musical is inspired by the playwright's real life experience. This is an emotionally powerful and intimate musical about two New Yorkers in their twenties who fall in and out of love over the course of five years. The show examines the five-year relationship between Jamie, a rising novelist, and Cathy, a struggling actress. Unlike most musicals, this show uses a unique storytelling approach where Jamie travels chronologically in time, from the beginning of the relationship to the end, while Cathy travels backwards in time, from the end of the relationship to the beginning. This show is an intensely personal examination of the rise and fall of a relationship and the games couples play.

FCT's production will boast a company of seasoned DFW theatre veterans both on stage and behind the scenes. Under the direction of Neale Whitmore and music direction of Shane Hurst, The Last 5 Years will star Kim Borge Swarner and Michael McCray, accompanied by a six-piece orchestra.

The production will run November 4 - November 20, in the Black Box Theater at Frisco's Discovery Center. Performances will be Friday and Saturday nights at 8:00 p.m., Sunday matinees at 2:30 p.m., and an extra matinee on Saturday, November 19. Tickets are $22 with discounts available for seniors, students and veterans. Tickets and more information are available at www.friscocommunitytheatre.com or 972-370-2266. THIS PERFORMANCE CONTAINS ADULT LANGUAGE AND SITUATIONS AND IS INTENDED FOR MATURE AUDIENCES.
