Tale Told Productions, a non profit theater company based in NYC, now in its 4th season, will be presenting an all female version of William Shakespeare's The Taming of the Shrew as part of their 7-Day Shakespeare Series! Directed by Lynnsey Garegnani this production presents a plot in which the misogynistic elements in the text are given a new take to spark imagination and inspire the audience to hear an old story with new ears. The cast features Malloree Hill as Petruchio, Violeta Picayo as Katherine or the Shrew, and Shaunice Alexander, Laura Kruegel, Margret O'Mara, Betsy Rosen, Jessica Sorgi, and Marissa Stewart in multiple roles.

With only seven days of rehearsal Tale Told Productions strives to present performances that are visceral and authentic, capturing the actor at their most raw and honest self while maintaining the truth and core of the plot. The production is designed by Rebecca Freund and features musical arrangement by Stephanie Nash. The rest of the creative team includes Tania Chelnov (Vocal Coach), Becca Fruend (Technical Designer), Alaina Sciascia (Dramaturg), and Kalen Boyd (Stage Manager.)

Performances will take place today and tomorrow, July 18th and 19th at La Plaza Cultural Garden on East 9th and Avenue C in Manhattan. Admission is FREE.
