The filmed stage adaptation of acclaimed novel and subsequent film FROM HERE TO ETERNITY is coming to UK TV.

FROM HERE TO ETERNITY: THE MUSICAL is set to make its UK TV premiere today, December 27, when it airs on SkyArts 2.

The official description of FROM HERE TO ETERNITY is as follows: "In 1954, the film From Here to Eternity swept the board at the Academy Awards, winning eight Oscars. More recently, Tim Rice's West End production has become a box office smash and now Sky Arts brings his stage show to the small screen. Set in Pearl Harbor in 1941, the musical follows the American soldiers of G Company. When the troubled Private Prewitt (Robert Lonsdale) falls for the kind- hearted escort club girl Lorene (Siubhan Harrison), and when his platoon sergeant, Warden (Darius Campbell), embarks on a dangerous affair with his commanding officer's wife, Karen (Rebecca Thornhill), the lives of both men are set on a course they cannot control. As war approaches, the worlds of the four lovers and the soldiers of G Company are dramatically ripped apart. The large-scale production features a cast of 33, which is accompanied by a 15- piece orchestra, so if viewers missed their chance to see the show at London's Shaftesbury Theatre, or want to enjoy the romance all over again, they can immerse themselves in this spellbinding tale of illicit love and army life from the best seat in the house in their very own homes."

FROM HERE TO ETERNITY: THE MUSICAL airs on SkyArts 2 today, December 27.
