New York's THIRTEEN, the flagship station of PBS, continues its year-long 50th anniversary (September 16, 2012) celebration with a special limited edition tote created by designer Eileen Fisher. Attracted to the high-quality, sophisticated minimalism and simple shapes of Fisher's timeless designs, THIRTEEN approached her to design the bag for donors, who support the station during the 50th anniversary fund raising campaign. Inside each tote, will be a special note from Fisher, congratulating THIRTEEN on its golden milestone. The tote, manufactured in New York City (Chelsea) by a leather partner of EILEEN FISHER INC., is available online at www.thirteen.org/eileenfisher.

Designer Eileen Fisher couldn't agree more. "I'm delighted to celebrate Thirteen's amazing achievements in public television. It was an honor to be asked to design the tote. Here's to the next 50 years of inspiring the world with unique, engaging and innovative programming."

The design of the bag reflects both EILEEN FISHER INC., and THIRTEEN. The design team selected an iconic handbag shape, the running stitch skinny handle tote, which has become one of the brand's signature handbag shapes. An eco-friendly fabric that is a blend of organic cotton (50%), hemp (30%) and recycled polyester (20%) was chosen for its substantial body and texture. This fabric is in keeping with Fisher's commitment to sustainability. The open tote is trimmed with bark, black or stone Italian leather and has an inside zippered pocket. The leather hangtag is embossed on one side with THIRTEEN's 50th Anniversary logo, and the other side with the EILEEN FISHER logo.

Eileen Fisher and EILEEN FISHER INC. have been featured on PBS programs including the PBS NewsHour and Leading with Kindness (2008), an hour long special produced by former WNET President and CEO, William F. Baker, and based on a book he co-wrote with Michael O'Malley on leadership.
