Disney Theatrical Productions announced today that licenses are now available for DISNEY'S HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL 2: ON STAGE via Music Theatre International (MTI), Disney's licensing partner. Schools, community theatres and professional theatres around the world can now produce the musical in full-length or one-act versions. HSM2: ON STAGE joins the impressive array of titles already available from Disney.

"Whether on ice or on stage somewhere around the world, the global phenomenon that is DISNEY'S HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL continues to delight and entertain," said Steve Fickinger, Vice President, Theatrical Licensing for Disney Theatrical Productions. "The lives of Gabriella, Troy and the students of East High have captured the imagination of millions of people. Theatre makers around the world can now bring the next part of this story to stages of all shapes and sizes. "

Over 3,500 licensed productions of HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL: ON STAGE, the first part in the series, were produced in the United States and abroad making the title one of the most popular available from Disney. HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL 2: ON STAGE follows the summertime adventures of Troy, Gabriella and the rest of the Wildcats as they work as staff members at the Lava Springs Country Club. The first professional licensed production of HSM2: ON STAGE premiered at Atlanta's Theatre of the Stars on November 9, 2008 and reunited much of the cast and creative team that were involved in mounting a production of HIGH SCHOOL MUSICAL: ON STAGE in Atlanta last year.

Disney's online community for its licensed productions, DisneyMusicals.com, was recently launched as a site where kids, parents, educators and anyone else interested in acting in or producing a Disney musical can find more information on available titles, watch videos from other school and community-theatre productions, and link to MTI's website to download applications for licenses (www.mtishows.com).

DISNEY THEATRICAL PRODUCTIONS (DTP), a division of Disney Theatrical Group, operates under the direction of Thomas Schumacher and is among the world's most successful commercial theatre enterprises. Reaching a global annual audience of more than 10 million people in over 40 countries, DTP produces and licenses Broadway musicals around the world including Grammy®, Tony® and Olivier-award winning The Lion King, Beauty and the Beast, Elton John & Tim Rice's Aida, TARZAN ® and Mary Poppins, a co-production by Disney and Cameron Mackintosh which is about to launch its national touring engagement. Its most recent Broadway production, The Little Mermaid, debuted in 2007 and immediately became a Broadway sensation. That same year, DTP launched the professional touring stage version of Disney's High School Musical. In addition, DTP licenses musical titles for local schools and community productions through Musical Theatre International and on its recently launched website, DisneyMusicals.com.

Disney Theatrical Group also delivers live entertainment around the world through its partnership with Feld Entertainment, producer of Disney on Ice and Disney LIVE!, including High School Musical: The Ice Tour and Playhouse Disney Live!
