Telling the story of four adventurous friends on their journey through life's trials and triumphs, author Dana A. Alkandari's new book "The Real Life" (published by AuthorHouse) exemplifies the value of friendship, perseverance and dream-building in a world where hostility and negativity lie in wait.

"My book shows that there are families that don't accept their children's dreams and ambitions - dreams that can change this society and the whole world," Alkandari says. "Nowadays I see people betray their partners in work and schools, even if they are friends."

Alkandari's book aims to teach readers that life is too short to not pursue passions. The story also carries themes of finding the good in the world and forgiving those that spread negativity to others for personal gain.

"I want readers to know that there are going to be new voices and books that will stand and speak for them," Alkandari says. "This world will be a better place if we all stick together. I won't even doubt that."
