According to the Bay Street Theatre, some casting has been announced for the Sag Harbor theatre's upcoming 2007-2008 productions.

Brian d'Arcy James (The Apple Tree, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels) will appear in the first show, Things Being What They Are. The other part is being cast.   The play is written by Wendy McLeod and directed by Leonard Foglia.  It is "set in a suburban condo complex with neighbors Bill and Jack both reaching crossroads in their lives and marriages. This wistful new comedy explores the passions and human failings that bring people together and drive them apart," state press notes.  The show premiered at Seattle Rep and was seen at Steppenwolf in Chicago.

Starring in The Lady in Question will be Charles Busch (The Tale of the Allergist's Wife), Julie Halston (Hairspray), Matt McGrath (Cabaret), Cheyenne Jackson (All Shook Up), Larry Keith (Caroline, or Change), and Kristine Nielsen (Miss Witherspoon).  A few more are being cast.  The play is written by Busch and directed by Christopher Ashley.  The show has "the one and only Charles Busch playing the role of Gertude Garnet, in this free-wheeling satire of 1940's thrillers.  The suspenseful tale begins as Garnet, a glamorous diva and self-obsessed concert pianist on tour in the heart of Bavaria, finds her colossal ego challenged when a handsome American professor engages her aid in rescuing his mother from a Nazi prison."

The other two shows are still casting....The Night Season will feature Michael O'Keefe (Reckless), with more casting to be announced. The new rock opera Turandot: The Rumble for the Ring has not yet found a cast, although it will feature musical direction by Roger Butterley.
