Winter Storm Hercules is beginning to sweep across the Northeast, but The Broadway League has given the all-clear for tonight's performances on the Great White Way in New York City.

A statement on the organization's website reads: "All Broadway shows will play as scheduled for today, Thursday, January 2nd. Please continue to check back for updates. For information about returns and exchanges, please contact your point of purchase."

In light of the storm, several shows are also offering winter storm ticket specials. BWW is keeping track of the details HERE.

As of 7PM, winter storm warnings have been issued for NYC, Boston, Hartford, Philly, Albany, Syracuse, Rochester and Buffalo. The National Weather Service has issued blizzard warnings for Long Island, the south shore of Massachusetts, Cape Cod and the coasts of northeast Massachusetts, New Hampshire and southern Maine.

The Weather Channel reports that "Winter Storm Hercules will continue to impact the Northeast with significant amounts of snow and strong winds as it sweeps through the region Thursday night into early Friday." Heavier snowfall is expected from western New York to southern New England. Cold temperatures will likely cause blowing and drifting snow, especially in the coastal Northeast, with blizzard-like conditions.

BroadwayWorld will continue to bring you the latest on show cancellations throughout the city.
