Brian Anthony Wilson, Tim Daly and More Set for DTF's Upcoming Season

A host of Broadway talent as well as several film and television stars will be appearing on the Dorset Theatre Festival stage this summer. Tim Daly, well known for his work on Wings (NBC) and Private Practice (ABC) will headline in the first production of the season, Theresa Rebeck's The Scene. Joining him will be Geoffrey Arend (ABC's Body of Proof) and well-known NY stage actress Mary Bacon (most recently seen in the Michael John LaChiusa/Sybille Pearson musical Giant as well as on Bway in Tom Stoppard's Rock 'n' Roll). They will be joined by newcomer Carolyn Holding (The Philadelphia Story/Chautauqua). Adrienne Campbell-Holt will direct the production.

The Whipping Man by Matthew Lopez, directed by DTF Artistic Director Dina Janis, will follow and will star Brian Anthony Wilson, well known for his work on HBO's The Wire as well as featured film roles in Rounders (with Ed Norton) and Keeping the Faith(with Ben Stiller). Brian's costars will be Jaime Lincoln Smith (Ruined & Holla if Ya Hear Me) and Michael Simpson (The Glass Menagerie/Old Globe).

Jenn Thompson, TACT's Co-Artistic Director, will direct the DTF revival of Neil Simon's Barefoot in the Park with a great comic cast that includes Amelia White (Cat on a Hot Tin Roof), Geoffrey Wade (An American Daughter), Tony Roach ( Rich Girl), Lesley Shires (Happy Birthday), Evan Thompson (Ivanov, An American Daughter) and Tom Ferguson (Anyone Can Whistle-DPI).

Concluding the Mainstage Season will be the Regional Premiere of Clybourne Park by Bruce Norris, directed by Giovanna Sardelli. This production is a Co-Production with Barrington Stage under the leadership of Artistic Director Julianne Boyd, TriStan Wilson Managing Director. The cast for this Pulitzer Prize winning play will include Remi Sandri (The North Pool), Carol Halstead (The Best Man), Clea Alsip (The Show Off, The Killing of Sister George), Andy Lucien (The Last Seder), Lynnette Freeman (A Raisin in the Sun -Trinity Rep), Greg Jackson (Timon of Athens - NJ Shakespeare) and Kevin Crouch (Two Gentlemen/Tahoe Shakespeare).

DTF will also be presenting three New Play Readings as part of their New Play Development Program, the first of which will be Adam Rapp's The Purple Lights of Joppa Illinois starring Paul Sparks (Boardwalk Empire), Connor Barrett (The Metal Children), and newcomers Zoe Van Tieghem (The Last Keepers) and Christina Lorenn Elmore.
