Matthew White is an American interior designer, whose work has been featured in nearly every American shelter magazine, including being selected as one of the "AD 100" (Architectural Digest's list of the 100 best designers in the world). In 2003 he joined forces with Frank Webb, launching the design firm White Webb. He is the President of Save Venice Inc., and currently lives in New York City.

In Italy of My Dreams, White takes the reader on a visual and textual journey-- from his childhood in a trailer park in Armarillo, Texas, to his first, life-changing trip to Venice, and through the development and application of his deep personal connection with the art and architecture of Italy. Each project detailed in the tome is one that White has not only designed, but has also called home. While the locations change - from California Villas to a Palazzo in New York City - the designer's passion remains true, making this celebration of Italian style as intimate as it is inspirational.
