Over 150,000 people have visited the Marc Chagall exhibit titled Chagall: Colour and Music at the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts this year. This collaborative endeavour involves the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, Cité de la musique (Philharmonie de Paris and La Piscine), Musée d'art et d'industrie André Diligent, Roubaix as well as the support of the Chagall Estate. It is the largest and most comprehensive tribute to Chagall ever presented in Canada.

The numerous works include paintings, sculptures, stained glass and tapestries, each paired with musical accompaniment from styles and composers that heavily influenced Chagall throughout his life. Among the variety of mediums presented, visitors also have the opportunity to view rarely seen costumes and set designs created by Chagall for ballets and operas, loaned to the Montreal Museum of Fine Arts by the renowned Opéra de Paris, the New York City Ballet and the New York Metropolitan Opera. They are elegantly displayed and accompanied by video recordings of respective performances.
