Anthony LaPaglia to Lead Fox Drama Pilot BOOMERANG

Deadline reports that Anthony LaPaglia is "finalizing a deal" to lead the cast of an upcoming drama pilot for the FOX network titled BOOMERANG. The project, written by Davey Holmes, is from John Wells Prods. and Warner Bros TV. The actor joins previously announced cast members Felicity Huffman, Michael Stahl-David and Patrick Heusinger.

The drama follows the Hamiltons, "a family who serve as assassins for the federal government." LaPaglia will take on the role of 'Bill,' described as an "ex-CIA and patriarch of the Hamilton clan, a seasoned assassin with a neurotic side who takes his job very seriously." Huffman is the matriarch of the family while Stahl-David and Heusinger play the adult sons who are also in the government assassin business.

LaPaglia rose to stardom with a mix of classic roles on stage and screen including On the Open Road at The Public Theater, So I Married an Axe Murderer with Mike Myers, The Rose Tattoo on Broadway with Mercedes Ruehl, The Client with Susan Sarandon, and Lantana for which he won the prestigious Australian Film Institute Award for Best Actor, culminating with his Tony Award-winning turn in Arthur Miller's 1998 revival of A View from the Bridge.

He recently starred in the Ken Ludwig comedy 'Lend Me a Tenor', co starring Tony Shalhoub, Justin Bartha, Brooke Adams, Mary Catherine Garrison, Jennifer Laura Thompson, Jay Klaitz, and Jan Maxwell.

In addition to his starring TV role on "Without a Trace", LaPaglia received an Emmy Award for his guest starring appearance on NBC's "Frasier."
