Andrew Rannells to Star in Comedy Film by JERSEY BOYS' Mike Doyle

Deadline writes that Broadway vet and GIRLS star Andrew Rannells will co-star in a comedy film written by JERSEY BOYS' Mike Doyle.

Universal Pictures has picked up the untitled project; the plot is being kept under wraps for now.

Judd Apatow will produce via Apatow Productions.

Rannells will soon be seen on the big screen in THE INTERN. Among his TV credits are GIRLS and THE NEW NORMAL, as well as appearances on GLEE and HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER.

He received a Tony nomination for his role as 'Elder Price' in THE BOOK OF MORMON and recently took the stage in Broadway's HEDWIG AND THE ANGRY INCH. Among his other theatre credits are JERSEY BOYS and HAIRSPRAY.

Doyle is currently starring in THE ADVOCATE pilot and will appear in the movie MAX STEEL. He recently starred in THE INVITATION, which screened at SXSW.

Among his recent film credits are THE LAST WORD, YOU'RE NOT YOU, JERSEY BOYS and more. He has also appeared on TV credits in THE BLACKLIST, THE MENTALIST, SHAMELESS, THE GOOD WIFE, A GIFTED MAN and more.
