Andrea Rosen Gallery is pleased to announce a three-person exhibition in our Gallery 2 space with work by Aaron Bobrow, Daniel Lefcourt, and Davina Semo. In each artist's work, imagery is honed and pared down through a rigrous and informed studio practice, rather than in the pursuit of a style or aesthetic sensibility.

Each artist is quite different and occupies a unique territory, but they all maintain a working method rooted in a self-reflexive investigation of their entire practice so that each individual piece contains the accumulated information of their collective body of work. While the exhibition brings out certain similarities in each artist's work-like the fluid movement between photography, painting, and sculpture or the prevalence of industrial material-the juxtaposition of these artists hopefully allows for their distinct positions to be even more apparent.

Aaron Bobrow (b. 1985, San Francisco, CA) received his BFA from Parsons School of Design and lives and works in New York. Andrea Rosen Gallery presented Electric Bathing, his first solo exhibition in New York, in 2013. Bobrow's tarp paintings and photographs were the subject of his recent solo exhibition, No Sleep In the Exit Row, at Office Baroque in Antwerp. Bobrow has been included in several group exhibitions in Europe and the United States, including at Andrea Rosen Gallery, Brand New Gallery in Milan, and in New Deal, curated by Kyle Thurman and Matthew Moravec with the Art Production Fund.

Daniel Lefcourt (b. 1975, New York, NY) lives and works in Brooklyn. He received his MFA from Columbia University and is a member of the faculty of the Rhode Island School of Design. Lefcourt has exhibited in museums and galleries worldwide, including solo exhibitions at Mitchell Innes & Nash and Taxter & Spengemann in New York, Campoli Presti in Paris, Sutton Lane in London, and at White Flag Projects in St. Louis. His work has been included in numerous group exhibitions including at the ICA Philadelphia; Sculpture Center in Long Island City, New York; The de Young Museum in San Francisco; and at MoMA P.S.1 Contemporary Art Center, Long Island City, NY. He has also been commissioned to do a web project the Dia Art Foundation.

Davina Semo (b. 1981, Washington, DC) received her MFA from the University of California, San Diego (2006) and a BA from Brown University, Providence, RI (2003). She had been featured in solo exhibitions at White Flag Library, St. Louis, MO; Galerie Gabriel Rolt, Amsterdam; Street at Shoot the Lobster, Miami, FL (2012); and Martos Gallery, New York (2011). She has been included in group shows at Night Gallery, Los Angeles, CA; Derek Eller, New York, NY (2013); Bureau, New York, NY; Nicole Klagsburn, New York, NY; Greene Naftali Gallery, New York, NY among many others. In 2005, she received a grant from the University of California Institute of Research in the Arts. The artist lives and works in New York.
