Tune in to WOR's "The Joan Hamburg Show" on Thursday, November 20th from 9:00-11:00AM (710 AM) to listen as Joan celebrates Roundabout Theatre Company's 2008-2009 Season.  Roundabout's Artistic Director Todd Haimes, along with Martha Plimpton (Pal Joey), Michael Cerveris (Hedda Gabler), Cynthia Nixon (Distracted), Frank Langella (A Man for All Seasons), Ato Essandoh & Larry Clarke (Streamers) will be on-hand to discuss Roundabout's exciting season.

Stockard Channing, Christian Hoff and Martha Plimpton star in Pal Joey. This classic Rodgers & Hart musical is directed by Joe Mantello, with choreography by Graciela Daniele and a new book by Richard Greenberg. Pal Joey is currently in previews and will open officially on Thursday, December 11th, 2008 on Broadway at Studio 54 (254 West 54th Street). This is a limited engagement through February 15th, 2009. Set in Chicago in the late 1930s, Pal Joey is the story of Joey Evans, a brash, scheming song and dance man with dreams of owning his own nightclub.   Joey abandons his wholesome girlfriend Linda English, to charm a rich, married older woman, Vera Simpson, in the hope that she'll set him up in business.

Frank Langella stars in A Man for All Seasons, written by Robert Bolt and directed by Doug Hughes. A Man for All Seasons is currently playing a limited engagement through December 14th at the American Airlines Theatre (227 West 42nd Street). A Man for All Seasons is a timeless exploration of politics, religion and power. Robert Bolt's classic drama is based on the fascinating true story of English Chancellor Sir Thomas More and his moral objection to King Henry VIII's plan to leave the Catholic Church.

Mary-Louise Parker, Michael Cerveris, Paul Sparks and Peter Stormare star in Hedda Gabler, written by Henrik Ibsen with a new adaptation by Christopher Shinn, directed by Ian Rickson. Hedda Gabler will begin previews on Tuesday, January 6th, 2009 and will officially open on Sunday, January 25th at Broadway's American Airlines Theatre (227 West 42nd Street). This is a limited engagement through March 29th, 2009. A woman of dangerous independence restrained by a conventional marriage, Hedda Gabler indulges in a cruel game, amusing herself with the misfortune she inflicts on those around her. As Hedda struggles to balance her wild desires against her chosen life, she sets into motion a manic chain of events that bring her story to a chilling end.

Distracted, by Lisa Loomer, directed by Mark Brokaw will feature Cynthia Nixon. Distracted begins previews at the Laura Pels Theatre in February 2009. Distracted is a fast-paced and disarmingly funny look at parenting in the age of the Internet and Ritalin. In this New York premiere, a contemporary American mom reaches out to teachers, psychotherapists, and neighbors to figure out if Attention Deficit Disorder is the root of her son's problems.

Streamers, by David Rabe, directed by Scott Ellis, features Hale Appleman, Axel Avin Jr., E.J. Cantu, Larry Clarke, Ato Essandoh, Brad Fleischer, Charlie Hewson, Jason McDowell-Green, Cobey Mandarino, John Sharian and JD Williams. Streamers is currently playing a limited engagement through January 11th, 2009 at the Laura Pels Theatre at the Harold and Miriam Steinberg Center for Theatre (111 West 46th Street). In this powerful American masterpiece, four young soldiers fresh from boot camp wait anxiously in 1965 Virginia, watching the Vietnam conflict escalate. As they struggle to make sense of their new life in the army, tensions rise over race, sexuality, and class, culminating in an explosive act that changes them forever. Streamers is an unflinching exploration of the turmoil and confusion facing young men threatened by forces beyond their control.

Roundabout Theatre Company's 2008-2009 season includes Robert Bolt's A Man for All Seasons, starring Frank Langella, directed by Doug Hughes; Rodgers & Hart's Pal Joey, starring Stockard Channing, Christian Hoff & Martha Plimpton, directed by Joe Mantello; David Rabe's Streamers, directed by Scott Ellis; Steven Levenson's The Language of Trees, directed by Alex Timbers; Henrik Ibsen's Hedda Gabler, starring Mary-Louise Parker, Michael Cerveris, Paul Sparks & Peter Stormare, directed by Ian Rickson; Lisa Loomer's Distracted featuring Cynthia Nixon, directed by Mark Brokaw; Christopher Hampton's The Philanthropist, starring Matthew Broderick, directed by David Grindley and Samuel Beckett's Waiting for Godot, starring Bill Irwin & Nathan Lane, directed by Anthony Page.  Roundabout's sold out production of The 39 Steps transferred to the Cort Theatre on April 29th, 2008.
