OzAsia Festival Partners with PAFC's China Power Club

Adelaide Festival Centre is delighted to announce that Port Adelaide Football Club's China Power Club is OzAsia Festival's newest 2016 partner.

The China Power Club is PAFC's exclusive membership club, connecting the Chinese community with Australian football. PAFC strives to contribute to the strong economic and social ties between Australia and China, deepening existing relationships and helping China Power Club members expand and elevate their China-focussed network.

OzAsia Festival is Australia's leading annual arts Festival focusing on Asia. Each year, the Festival presents the very best contemporary artists from across Asia, connecting audiences with an outstanding array of theatre, music, dance, visual arts, film and food. As the profile of OzAsia grows, Adelaide becomes the main destination in the Asia-Pacific region to see the best contemporary arts and culture from Asia in a vibrant and exciting festival atmosphere.

China Power Club's OzAsia Festival partnership will kick off when Port Adelaide hosts Hawthorn in AFL's Multicultural Round on Thursday 7 July at the Adelaide Oval at 7:20pm.

Before the game, Port Adelaide will present 2016's largest and most exciting pre-game experience with a spectacular Hong Kong Dragon dance, fireworks, and LED performers in the Adelaide Oval's southern plaza. The night will also feature a pre-game citizenship ceremony, a lap of honour with flag bearers, and dragon boats in the River Torrens.

OzAsia Festival Director, Joseph Mitchell says, "Adelaide Festival Centre has built a strong reputation for its successful focus on enhancing Australian-Asian cultural relationships. OzAsia Festival is a significant part of this and has a dedicated focus on introducing Australian audiences to contemporary Asian arts through cutting edge performances from across the region while also celebrating cultural diversity through major events such as the Moon Lantern Festival.

"The China Power Club supports Port Adelaide Football Club's desire to deepen the connection between Australia and China and their partnership of this year's OzAsia Festival is integral."

Port Adelaide chairman David Koch says, "the partnership between the club's China Power Club and OZASIA Festival is another important element in the club's China strategy.

"The China Power Club is an exclusive coterie group providing opportunities for businesses and individuals to establish business networks between Australia and China," Mr Koch said.

"The funds generated by the China Power Club go directly into programs designed to making Port Adelaide more accessible to the Chinese community.

OzAsia Festival is celebrating its 10th anniversary in 2016 and will run from September 17 to October 2 at Adelaide Festival Centre.

Port Adelaide plays Hawthorn in AFL's Multicultural Round on Thursday 7 July 2016 at 7:20pm.

The 2016 OzAsia Program will be announced on Saturday, 23 July 2016.
