"1 in 4 Australian students experience bullying, 1 in 10 drop out of school because of it."

In the face of the reality of the Internet bullying phenomenon, award winning theatre maker Alirio Zavarce collaborating with young people from the Northern Suburbs of Adelaide has devised and directed E Bully. As theatre designed to instigate change, E Bully peels up the issue of cyber bullying right open and enables the Young Artists of True North Youth Theatre Ensemble to do what they are renowned for; facilitating important conversations by young people, for young people. In E Bully the audience is encouraged to use their mobile phones and participate in a Cyber Forum to explore the behaviours and motivations of the Bully but most importantly as the mean to engage and investigate this prevalent and relevant issue.

E Bully is followed by a Q & A in which the audience and the ensemble are able to openly discuss the issue of bullying and share strategies and solutions with each other.

The northern suburbs of Adelaide have long lacked opportunities for young people young people interested in the Arts to express themselves and find a sense of belonging. True North provides an affordable, social, collaborative and safe place in which they will be able to express themselves in order to teach performance skills and practices. It aims to breakdown cultural barriers, promote self-esteem, confidence and provide high level tuition.

In an area in which there are not many alternatives for young people we give youth the possibility to engage in a positive activity rather that the current vacuum in which our youth who may engage in idleness or not positive activities. E Bully is the latest result of this process and methodology.

True North represented Australia at the 2016 World Festival of Children's Theatre in Stratford Canada. It won the Graham Smith Peace Trust Award in 2014 for "A Sense of Home" and the People's Choice Ruby Award in 2016 for "A Kid Like Me"
