Again, I thought Jodie was fabulous tonight. That was one of the best versions of Send in the Clowns I've ever heard; it's so nice to actually hear it sung and acted, rather than just relying on the acting to pull through.
She will make a sensational Nancy.
While Jessie was one of my favourites initially, I find her voice and facial expressions quite annoying.
I think Rachel has a very good chance as well; great voice and a very good actress.

Having seen only clips of the show, tell me, do those poor girls have to wear those NHS Nancy costumes week in week out??
A young actress with Noel coward after a dreadful opening night performance said to him 'Well, i knew my lines backwards this morning!'' Noels fast reply was ''Yes dear, and thats exactly how you said them tonight'!'

Yup.

Did I hear Jessie slagging?
The rain we knew is a thing of the past -
deep-delving, dark, deliberate you would say
browsing on spire and bogland; but today
our sky-blue slates are steaming in the sun,
our yachts tinkling and dancing in the bay
like racehorses. We contemplate at last
shining windows, a future forbidden to no one.

Oh crap.

By green, would you mean you were the Grinch in Seussical...?

I've been here for 2 years, you have some catching up to do. I'm not just over the 1000, I'm almost on 6000. I have no life, apparently!

Seriously, I just sent you a PM (top left hand corner), reply to me!

And even if they're not in those costumes, they're wearing that colour, almost amusing!

I preferred the coats to the lockets, but what could they have done, I suppose!

I'm afraid I thought Jodie murdered Send In The Clowns. She oversang it and managed to take all the emotion out of one of the most poignant songs ever written for musical theatre. Acting requires subtlety and she is over the top every week.

Also - though I've liked Jessie in previous weeks, this week her performance was very "contrived" and she does not have a big enough voice to take on a Dreamgirls song.

Rachel still looks strong and Fran was incredible. If ALW could comment that he thought Fran had pitch problems and then defend Samantha, who was way off-key for most of the song, he is either going deaf or losing his marbles.

Yep, despite my reservations a couple of weeks ago, I thought Fran was good this week, although not the best...

Samantha is still brilliant for me - it's possible she hasn't got the best voice there, (although I think it's good, but I'm not an expert) but more important for me, I think there's a lot more 'truth' behind her performances than say Jodie.

Don't get me wrong, I like Jodie, and she did do a good job of Send in the Clowns, but she's still a bit 'cabaret' for me, and a little bit of a caricature of herself almost? Am I being unfair?

I thought Jessie was excellent, (she is proving consistent), but I also think that Sarah was fantastic again... will be interesting to see if she dyes her hair like John suggested...

But am I the only one who thinks Sarah could actually make a great Tracy Turnblad??

I think that Sarah did really well and thought that some of the comments were perhaps a little harsh. On a different track, I really like Niamh's voice... could listen to her for a long time...she sang moon river beautifully (bar the second note!) but I just can't picture her as Nancy.

Jodie done a great job of 'send in the cowns', think she is very compatible with Keith as the ones that were on hard times and came good, Keith being a supermarket cashier and Jodie who lost a lot of weight to resume her acting career, good luck to both of them and hope both do well in Theatre.

For me it is Sarah, she is a great singer and she has great(whoops better not mention that on here)!

I think Niamh is an incredable find. Not Nancy, but she would make a brilliant Eponine!

The Nancy's and a film crew were at the Wicked matinee yesterday. According to a friend who was there, after the matinee Kerry Ellis annouced the Nancy's would be singing and the audience could stay and watch if they wanted. They sang 'I'm Not That Girl'.

What is ALW on?

In the sing-off tonight Fran was much better than Ashley.

I may have agreed with him when he has criticised Fran's pitch in the past, but she has clearly worked on that (based on tonight's performance) and delivered a great performance in the sing-off. Ashley was ordinary in comparison.

Fran was better than Ashley. He really seemed to not like Fran though.

I didn't want her to win, but I don't think it was the right time for her to go.

I think tonight showed up that ALW has either lost his bottle or says things for the sake of it!
After what he said about Ashley, surely he had to send her out?! but then he chose to save her?! odd

his comments about ashley on saturday must surely of been for controversys sake, not expecting ashley to be in the sing off. So that came to bite him on the backside didnt it?

Are we all losing interest in this? I haven't seen it for a couple of weeks and get the impression, having seen it tonight, that I haven't missed much.

I'm glad that some of the Nancys are beginning to stand up for themselves against the ambiguous and facile comments from the judges. I was surprised Ashley was still in it after the way she was being spoken to last time I watched. Lloyd Webber still comes across as being the love-child of Edna Turnblad and Chitty's child-catcher.

I get the impression that the great British public are rooting for Jodie but that the production team will want someone less - errr - buxom?! So, if I'm right, there will be further manipulation, toys-out-of-the-cot and walk-offs to come. I really do feel sorry for the actors going through this.
