As the momentum continues to build for the show-stopping BBC Children in Need POP Goes the Musical, the charity is thrilled to announce the addition of Amelia Lily to its celebrity line-up.

The X Factor finalist will take to the stage to perform a unique collaboration with cast members from the award-winning Shrek The Musical.

Amelia says: “Shrek The Musical is loved by people of all ages, I’m thrilled to be a part of it. I can’t wait to start rehearsals!”

Shrek The Musical is based on the story and characters from William Steig’s book Shrek! and the Oscar®-winning Dreamworks Animation feature film Shrek, the first chapter in the series of irreverent fairytales. Shrek The Musical currently stars Dean Chisnall as Shrek, Richard Blackwood as Donkey, Neil McDermott as Lord Farquaad and Carley Stenson as Princess Fiona.

The sensational celebrities involved in this year’s unique curtain call challenge also include the legendary Geri Halliwell who will be adding her own spice to Singin’ in the Rain, as well as the magnificent Macy Gray, chart-busters Stooshe and X Factor winner Joe McElderry who will each separately put their own spin on a Michael Jackson classic in Thriller Live.

BBC Children in Need POP Goes the Musical 2012 is working with the best of West End Theatre and a star-studded line up.
