A first look teaser trailer has been released for THE PSYCHIC, offering an early preview of the new stage thriller from Andy Nyman and Jeremy Dyson. In the video, the co-writers and directors discuss the origins of the production and its world premiere staging.
The play will premiere at York Theatre Royal, running April 29 through May 23, 2026, with an official opening night set for May 6.
The cast includes Frances Barber as Rosa and Eileen Walsh as Sheila Gold, alongside Megan Placito, Dave Hearn, Jaz Singh Deol, Nikhita Lesler, and Charlie Blanshard.
THE PSYCHIC follows a television psychic whose career collapses after losing a high-profile court case. When she is invited to conduct a séance for a wealthy couple, what begins as an opportunity for financial recovery leads her into increasingly unsettling territory.
The production is co-directed by Dyson and Nyman, with design by Rae Smith, illusion design by Chris Fisher, lighting design by Zoe Spurr, and sound design by Nick Manning. Casting is by Arthur Carrington CDG.
The teaser marks the first public look at the production ahead of its world premiere run in York.
