Artistic Director Conrad Lynch today announces additional dates added to Theatre by the Lake's production of Handbagged due to popular demand. Five more performances of the show have been added - four new matinees on Thursday 21 September, Thursday 12 October, Tuesday 24 October and Saturday 4 November, all at 2pm, and one new evening performance on Saturday 4 November at 7.30pm. Handbagged runs at Theatre by the Lake until Saturday 4 November in rep alongside After the Dance, Miss Julie, As You Like It and Remarkable Invisible.

Handbagged imagines the weekly conversations between Margaret Thatcher and the Queen, and speculates what really happened behind closed palace doors when two of the most powerful women in the world clashed.

Written by Moira Buffini, Handbagged was first seen at the Tricycle Theatre in London, where it received rave reviews and packed out audiences. It subsequently transferred to the West End, to similar acclaim. Funny, insightful and brilliantly sharp, the play was nominated for an Olivier Award for Best New Comedy in 2015.
