The Rose continues to present a variety of entertainment in June with The Vagina Monologues providing the ultimate girls night out, Stephen Triffitt stepping into the shoes of Frank Sinatra direct from Las Vegas and the very first adaptation of Richard Milward's stunning cult debut novel, Apples. Full details on all three shows are below.

Thursday 17 - Saturday 19 June
The Vagina Monologues
For ages 16+
Tickets £7-£24

Nikki Sanderson (Coronation Street), Cathy Tyson (Emmerdale) and Jessie Wallace (Eastenders) star in Eve Ensler's The Vagina Monologues.

Back by popular demand and with a brand new all star cast, The Vagina Monologues is based on author Eve Ensler's Vagina Interviews conducted with women from all around the world. This hilariously witty and moving collection of tales gives voice to a chorus of lusty, outrageous, poignant, brave and thoroughly human stories.

Coronation Street beauty Nikki Sanderson will be joined by Kingston born actress Cathy Tyson (Mona Lisa) and Jessie Wallace, famous for her role as Kat Slater in Eastenders.

Monday 21 & Tuesday 22 June
Apples
For ages 14+
Tickets £10/concessions £8

Set on a Middlesbrough council estate, this astonishing story is an electrifying collision of Irvine Welsh and Virginia Woolf. Streams of poetic, powerful and often hilarious words pour from the minds of six fifteen year olds as they negotiate a world where adults are absent, drugs are everywhere, sex is desperate and life is both terrifying and thrilling.

Apples may follow the lives of Adam and Eve, but they exist in a radically different Eden. Following the news her mother has lung cancer, Eve seeks distraction in a dizzying world of cheap booze, drug fuelled parties and one night stands. Though strong-willed, Eve is naively unaware of the risks that come with such an intense lifestyle. But for her best friend Claire, the consequences are all too real...

Plagued by OCD, an abusive father and his desperate love for Eve, awkward Adam is a relative outsider to such a world. Yet in his attempts to get closer to her, Adam is soon surrounded by the harsh reality of violence, drugs, teenage pregnancy, and a rape that threatens to destroy his chances with Eve forever.

Though they may feed every stereotype attached to the disaffected youth of today, the teenagers of Apples challenge our prejudice as their profound and complex inner lives are revealed. Afraid of not knowing who they are and battling to be happy, they are bewildered, optimistic, insightful and daft in equal measure.

Thursday 25 & Saturday 26 June
Sinatra Live at the Sands
For all ages!
Tickets £10-£21.50
Following two years in Las Vegas and six years in The Rat Pack Live from Las Vegas, Stephen Triffitt steps into the shoes of the musical legend that is Sinatra once more, this time in his own production!

Stephen's successful appearance on ITV's Stars in Your Eyes in 2001 led him to receiving a contract to perform Sinatra in The Main Event in Atlantic City USA and then to headline at The Venetian on the Strip in Vegas. Stephen returned to the UK and was immediately chosen to portray the legend in the world famous Rat Pack production, culminating in a sell-out run in the Theatre Royal Haymarket and subsequent transfers to The Novello and The Savoy.

Stephen performs at the Rose for two nights only.
