The Donmar Warehouse (producer of the current Broadway production of Hamlet starring Jude Law) announced that its yearlong West End season at the 750-seat Wyndham's Theater played to 98% of capacity. The Donmar is also making quite the mark on the Broadway stage with a number of Current Productions this season.

In addition to Hamlet, the Broadway production of "After Miss Julie," now playing at the American Airlines Theater, was first seen at the Donmar in a different production. This season the company has also made its Los Angeles debut with a revival of the musical "Parade" at the Mark Taper Forum directed and choreographed by Rob Ashford. This spring the Donmar's revival of Strindberg's "Creditors," directed by Alan Rickman, will travel to the Brooklyn Academy Of Music. The New York Times has a detailed article about the Donmar's current US stagings which you can read by clicking here.

The season consisted of four plays, all directed by Donmar Artistic Director Michael Grandage, ending with Hamlet in August. That production went on to play six performances at Elsinore and is now in previews at the Broadhurst Theater. The season's other productions included Chekhov's "Ivanov" with Kenneth Branagh, Twelfth Night with Derek Jacobi, and Yukio Mishima's "Madame de Sade" starring Judi Dench.

Almost 14% of the audience members were first-time bookers, according to Donmar reports, with 42,900 tickets sold at £10 ($16) over the course of the year. Top price of a ticket throughout the season was $52. Sunday performances played to 97% of capacity across all four plays.

The Donmar Warehouse is one of London's leading producing theatres and has garnered critical acclaim at home and abroad for its unparalleled catalogue of work. Since 1992, Donmar-generated productions have received 35 Olivier Awards, 20 Critics' Circle Awards, 19 Evening Standard Awards and 14 Tony Awards. The Donmar has a long and successful history of presenting its work outside of its home in Covent Garden. Productions in the West End include Piaf, Mary Stuart, Frost/Nixon, A Voyage Round My Father, Guys and Dolls, Design for Living, The Glass Menagerie, Company, The Real Thing, Passion Play, Ivanov, Twelfth Night, Madame de Sade and Hamlet. Productions on Broadway include Mary Stuart, Frost/Nixon, Cabaret, Electra, The Blue Room, The Real Thing, True West, Nine and the Public Theater and Donmar collaboration of Take Me Out.
