Photo Flash: First Look at Stewart Clarke and More in GODSPELL, in Concert at the Lyric

GODSPELL, the beloved musical from Stephen Schwartz, the GRAMMY and Academy Award-winning composer of WICKED, returns to London's West End for the first time in over 40 years tonight. Russell Scott Entertainment in association with In House Casting brought back the musical sensation to London for one night only, tonight, May 19, 2014. BroadwayWorld has a first look at the cast in action below!

David Essex, who became an overnight star as 'Jesus' in the 1972 West End premiere of GODSPELL, introduced the evening and was later joined on stage by other members of the original company, Marti Webb, Gay Soper, Tom Saffrey, Deryk Parkin and Jacqui-Ann Carr.

Enjoy the all the good gifts of one of the most enduring shows of all time in an up-to-date, intimate, one-of-a-kind production featuring the Tony-nominated score filled with popular hits "Day By Day", "Light of the World" and "Turn Back, O Man".

The cast features Stewart Clarke in the role of Jesus, alongside Andy Abraham, Zoe Tyler, Katie Paine, Rob Houchen, Turlough Convery, Jason Broderick, Laura Darton, Shekinah McFarlane and Jennifer Potts, plus the Maida Vale Singers and the American Musical Theatre Academy.

Directed by Kenneth Avery Clark, GODSPELL featured musical director Russell Scott and choreographer Richard Marcel. Visit www.godspellinconcert.com for more information.

Review: SUGAR COAT, Southwark Playhouse Photo
Sugar Coat is a piece of gig theatre, telling a story of growing up, trauma, and sex through pop punk music. A kind of rock concert meets musical, it’s performed by an all female and non-binary band, playing and singing live for the duration of the show. From the very beginning, this doesn’t feel like a traditional theatre experience: the audience are whooping and clapping along, and it’s clear that everyone both onstage and off is having a great time.

Review: PUSSYCAT IN MEMORY OF DARKNESS, Finborough Theatre Photo
A jagged knife of a play that could cut deeper. Chronicling Russia's first annexation of Crimea, Pussycat in Memory of Darkness is wielded like a jagged blade goring its victim in a furious trance of savagery. Its prophetic vision of violence as relentless as it is terrifying to watch.
