Photo Flash: Cast Announced for UK Tour of SON OF A PREACHER MAN

Returning to the stage for a new UK tour in 2018, Dusty Springfield musical Son of a Preacher Man will run at Coventry's Belgrade Theatre 13-17 February, directed and choreographed by Strictly Come Dancing judge Craig Revel Horwood.

Arriving at the Belgrade Main Stage just in time for Valentine's Day, the story begins in the 1960s at swinging Soho joint the Preacher Man, where kids danced the night away to the latest crazes and dared to dream of love, while the legendary owner - the Preacher Man himself - dispensed advice to cure the loneliest of hearts.

Years later, however, all that remains are the memories, stories and myths - that is, until three lovesick strangers find themselves inexplicably drawn to the site of the original venue. Generations apart but all in need of help with their hopeless love lives, the trio seek out the Preacher Man's son who might just find it in himself to channel the spirit of his father and give his guests the guidance that they seek...

Starring as the three lovesick leads will be Alice Barlow (Kat), Debra Stephenson (Alison) and Michael Howe (Paul) alongside Nigel Richards the famous Preacher Man's son and heir, Simon. Joining them will be Cassiopeia Berkeley-Agyepong, Kate Hardisty and Michelle Long as the fabulous singing Cappuccino Sisters.

Best known for her TV work, Alice's previous credits include Coronation Street, Swipers, Drifters, Benidorm, Banana, Staff Room, Casualty, Crime Stories, Hollyoaks. She was also a contestant on The Voice in 2013.

One of the UK's best-loved impressionists, comedy performers, actresses and singers, Debra Stephenson is perhaps best known as the star of BBC One's The Impressions Show. Other credits include BBC Radio 4's Dead Ringers and ITV's acclaimed Newzoids, as well as Coronation Street, Bad Girls, The Friday Night Project and 8 Out of 10 Cats.

A familiar face on stage and screen, Michael Howe reprises his role as Paul in the new UK tour of the show. His TV credits include Life Begins, New Tricks, Casualty and Hollyoakes, and theatre credits include Footloose, Othello, The Lion in Winter, A Midsummer Night's Dream, Ratpack and A Touch of Spring.

Other casting for the show includes Ellie-Jane Goddard, Gary Mitchinson, Jess Barker, Jon Bonner, Lewis Kidd, Liam Vincent-Kilbride and Rachael McAllister.

Featuring the greatest hits of Dusty Springfield, including "The Look Of Love", "I Only Want To Be With You", "Spooky" and of course, the classic "Son Of A Preacher Man", this sparklingly funny and touching new musical by internationally renowned writer Warner Brown will have you laughing, crying and singing your heart out to some of the greatest songs ever written.

Son of a Preacher Man runs at the Belgrade Theatre, Coventry from Tuesday 13 until Saturday 17 February. Tickets are available to book now by calling the Belgrade Box Office team on 024 7655 3055 or by visiting www.belgrade.co.uk, where prices are even cheaper.
