Renowned West End theatre actor and Hollywood screen star, Sir Ian McKellen recently named to Queen Elizabeth II's New Year Honours List.  This prestigious honor – to be titled one of Britain's Companions of Honour – is only granted to 65 living members including the Queen. McKellen was knighted in 1991 and continues his acclaimed tour of King Lear with the Royal Shakespeare Company.

Another honor was bestowed to Tony and Olivier Award-winning actor Richard Griffiths, who was named among the Officers of the Order of the British Empire.  Griffiths, recognizable to most for his turn as Mr. Dursley in the Harry Potter movie enterprise, earned a Tony Award for his performance in The History Boys and returns to Broadway opposite Daniel Radcliffe in the acclaimed revival of Equus.
