Who are the great Mavericks in the world today? Is Google damaging our capacity to think originally? How can we channel the maverick in all our lives? In a series of events, talks and performance lectures, Mark Borkowski will answer all these questions and more. Drawing on his personal experience of working with some of the most inspiring, innovative and downright impossible thinkers, Mark will lift the lid on the role of mavericks in the 21st Century: and why they might be more vital now than ever before.

Adventure Capitalism is Mark's compelling, autobiographical performance lecture. Featuring a theatre on the back of a bike, runaway taxmen turned circus performers, Hitler's nephew, a human exhibit in London Zoo, Michael Jackson, Marlon Brando, and a man intent on eating a Cessna jet, this is Mark's rollercoaster ride through the weird and wonderful world of the Maverick. Offering guidance on introducing the maverick factor into your life, Adventure Capitalism can be seen at a number of venues across the UK throughout the Summer, including Hightide Theatre Festival, the Solo Theatre Festival and the Site Festival.

Mark will be taking over Theatre Royal Stratford East for a week this June, playing host to a line-up of some of Britain's best mavericks - the truly original thinkers in sports, politics, culture, religion, education and technology. Kicking off with a special performance of Adventure Capitalism, Mark will host a series of discussions, provoking debate around the contribution mavericks make to society, and posing contentious questions over the impact of technology on our ability to think originally.

He has also been invited to join the panel to discuss Propaganda: Power and Persuasion at The British Library, coinciding with the organisation's exhibition of the same name, channeling his thinking on the powerful impact of maverick approaches on our everyday lives. The events follow successful appearances at TEDx Warsaw and Advertising Week Europe this summer.

Mark is recognised as a pundit on PR, the media and celebrity and is regularly asked to give television and radio interviews on platforms like CNN, BBC, Sky and ITV. He is frequently commissioned to write or comment for various publications includingHuffington Post, Guardian, Times, and Independent. He is the author of two books, Improperganda: The Art of the Publicity Stunt andThe Fame Formula, on the history of Hollywood's great publicists was published in August 2008. The Guardian said that the latter "established Mark Borkowski as the unofficial curator of the House of Spin." He is a West Country lad, born and bred in Stroud, where he still lives.
