LAGO Theatre Announce Repertory Season Image

Following the substantial critical acclaim of No Help Sent at Camden Theatre, Three. Two. F*CK at the Edinburgh Fringe and the near sell out run of Wine at the Tristan Bates Theatre earlier this year, LAGO Theatre are proud to announce their first repertory season of JACK WEST's acclaimed plays.

Playing between 18 September and 6 October 2018 at the Tristan Bates Theatre the three one hour plays, written by Jack West, together confront some of society's most pressing issues including the male suicide epidemic, the privatisation of the NHS and the conflicting opinions surrounding abortion.

For the first time, directors NATASHA RICKMAN and HARRY BLUMENAU join the LAGO Theatre team; directing No Help Sent and Wine respectively. Full casting to be announced.

REVELATION 1:18 faces the growing male suicide epidemic, uncovering how toxic masculinity and the continual desire for validation can lead to the unimaginable. Reuniting for a farewell gig in the city were it all began, a band on the brink of mega stardom ask; why live the life when we could leave a legacy?

NO HELP SENT magnifies the overwhelming lengths people will go to to help those they love when the people who were supposed to protect them, have failed them. The NHS has been privatised, their best friend has cancer and there are no more options. Fearing the worst, they'll do whatever it takes.

WINE is a gripping real time drama which bluntly confronts both sides of the 'pro-life' abortion argument. It's their second first date. She's living out her Hollywood dream whilst he's still living with his brother. As secrets of the past creep up on them, it's time to bring out their safe word. Wine.

Writer and LAGO Theatre's artistic director Jack West, said: "I'm extremely proud at how far LAGO have come in just a few short years of hard work and constant re-evaluation of what we're trying to achieve. To have all three of these shows playing in rep in London is a dream come true".

Joel Fisher, Creative Producer of the Tristan Bates Theatre, said: "LAGO Theatre are exactly what the future of our industry looks like - actors making work for themselves, exploring stories they want to tell and doing it steadily so as to make work of extremely high quality. I can't wait to have them back at the Tristan Bates this September'

All of LAGO Theatre's shows focus on producing accessible theatre for working-class writers, actors and audiences whilst putting real-world issues under the microscope. Now taking submissions from new writers with work that is yet to receive a professional production.

The LAGO Rep Season runs at the Tristan Bates Theatre from 18 September - 6 October 2018. Tickets for a single show are £15; for two shows, £25, and all three productions can be seen for £36.
