Lisa Kron's Tony-nominated comedy WELL, which recently made its European debut in London at Trafalgar Studios, will transfer to the Apollo Theatre, Shaftesbury Avenue. The show will open on December 30th, 2008 and run through January 24th, 2009. Original stars Sarah Miles and Natalie Casey will assume their roles as Anne and Lisa. Oliver Chris will be added to the cast.

The play will be performed at the Apollo after Rain Main and before Richard Greenberg's Three Days of Rain.

"Poor Lisa Kron. All she wants to do is put on a play about her family, and their issues of illness and wellness. But her hypochondriac mother keeps interrupting, telling her own versions of Lisa's carefully constructed medical memories, and causing chaos with the cast. This hysterical and touching theatrical event was the critics' darling of the 2006 Broadway season," described press notes of the show.

WELL which premiered at the Public Theater, ran on Broadway from March 30th through May 13th, 2006. Jayne Houdyshell and Lisa Kron played the lead roles. Both received Tony nominations for their work.

Kron has written and starred in several New York hits including the solo show 2.5-Minute Ride, and Oedipus at Palm Springs, featuring her acclaimed theatre troupe The Five Lesbian Brothers.
