Judi Dench Returns to Madame de Sade Tonight

WhatsOnStage is reporting that after four missed performances due to a sprained ankle, Judi Dench will return tonight to her role in Madame de Sade at the West End's Wyndham's Theatre.

Dench said in a statement, "I am thrilled to be returning to Madame de Sade, and would like to thank everyone for their support during this time. We are having enormous fun as a company, and I am looking forward to getting back to the role of Madame de Montreuil." To read the full report click here.

Judi Dench missed the performances of Madame de Sade just as the show opened this week to the press.

A statement from Delfont Mackintosh and The Donmar explained the situation when it firsy happened as, 
"As Judi Dench was leaving the theatre last night she tripped at the stage door and fell. She was taken to A&E where she was diagnosed with a severely sprained ankle.

Doctors had advised that she bring no weight to bear on her foot for the time being. As a Judi’s role of Madame de Montreuil was performed over the weekend by her understudy Marjorie Hayward.
