John Owen-Jones will return to the West End this year as Pirelli in the ENO's production of Sweeney Todd.

The tenor announced the news on his official website, revealing he will be performing alongside Bryn Terfel, Emma Thompson and Philip Quast in the show.

He is best known for his performances as the Phantom in Phantom of the Opera and Jean Valjean in Les Miserables - the youngest actor ever to play the latter role at the age of 26.

Thompson and Terfel reprise their roles as Mrs Lovett and Sweeney Todd in this concert staging of Stephen Sondheim's gruesome musical, which was a sell-out for its short run at the Lincoln Center in New York last year, and will have a strictly limited run of 13 performances at the London Coliseum Theatre from March 30th to April 12th.
