Harrods Estates Sells The Golden Box At The Royal Albert Hall

Harrods Estates will offer the ultimate Christmas gift - a box at the world-famous Royal Albert Hall which neighbours the Royals. The golden box in the Halls' Grand Tier is on the market for £3,000,000 with Harrods Estates - only the second to appear on the market in over a decade. The twelve-seater box in the world-famous Hall is an incredibly rare and valuable seasonal endowment, an ideal gift for the person who has it all.

Bringing festive performances to London for well over one hundred years, the Royal Albert Hall is known for fashioning festive cheer. Situated in the grand tier and on the market with leading luxury estate agents - Harrods Estates - this is a very rare opportunity to own a box at this celebrated British institution.

Jake Irwin-Brown from Harrods Estates' Knightsbridge Office commented: "More often than not, Grand Tier Boxes at The Royal Albert Hall are bequeathed, rarely going on the market for sale. This particular box is generously accommodated with twelve seats and furthermore located two boxes away from The Royal Box - a privilege to say the least. There's no denying a purchase such as this is an emotive buy, but also boxes of this nature appreciate greatly over time. Back in the day, boxes sold for a mere £80 a seat, which illustrates what a sound investment it is, with the potential for passive income, if and when the seats are let out. Not forgetting the feel-good aspect of social conscience; in support and association with the Teenage Cancer Trust's annual concerts' and Corporation of Arts and Science, respectively."

Prince Albert's vision was to make the hall a centre for the arts and sciences, but what most don't know, is that the hall championed the first Christmas tree; and its creator invented the first Christmas card. And with Christmas classics in concert, it seems like a fitting festive gift. Last year, the Grade I listed Royal Albert Hall hosted over 390 shows and events, including The Proms, EE British Academy Film Awards, Titanic Live, the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra's the Music of Bond and the European Premier of the latest installment of the Star Wars saga, The Last Jedi. The future investor and their honoured guests will be privy to performances such as The Proms, Morissey, Toto, Dionne Warwick, Gregory Porter, Sheridan Smith, Foreigner, Marti Pellow, Art Garfunkel, Joan Baez, Level 42, Europe and Cirque Du Soliel's Totem, to name but a few. Upon acquiring the sought-after Box, the owner will automatically be granted a membership to the Corporation of the Halls of Arts and Science. A tradition in honour of the individuals who put up the capital to fund the building of the hall in the 1860s, acquiring seats in return for governing the Hall for the nation's benefit. As a member, the Box owner will be responsible for duties such as electing the Council and the Hall's President, approving the level of the annual contribution, and ensuring that the purposes and traditions of the Corporation are upheld.

Harrods Estates has become the agent of choice for the sale of seats and boxes in the Royal Albert Hall and has successfully handled a number of sales, with the last box being sold to a fervent investor of the arts.
