Hush makes its much-anticipated return to the Royal Albert Hall's Elgar Room on Wednesday 12 May 2010. Following a successful run of shows in the room in the pastsix months including stand-up comedy, flute beatboxing, flamenco dancing and an all-standing classical concert, the Royal Albert Hall has teamed up with music webzine Rockfeedback, to bring indie-folk band Peggy Sue and acclaimed singer-songwriter Anna Calvi to the stage for the next instalment of the Hush series.

Continuing the Hall's commitment to supporting up and coming and breakthrough UKtalent, Hush in association with RockFeedback offers new artists the opportunity toplay the recently renovated 350 capacity Elgar Room whilst also introducing a wider andmore diverse audience to the venue.Brighton-based band Peggy Sue will top the bill on Wednesday 12 May.

Having touredextensively across the UK supporting Kate Nash, Mumford & Sons and The Macabees,the three piece will make their headline debut when they take to the Hush stage. With astrong fan base and over 1.5 million MySpace plays, the band will release their firstalbum titled ‘Fossils and Other Phantoms' next month.

Also performing on the night will be Anna Calvi. As an intensely mesmerising singer-song writer, she has already been hotly tipped as one to watch in 2010 by both NME and Dazed & Confused. Having supported the Artic Monkeys at the Teenage Cancer TrustRoyal Albert Hall show this month, Anna will bring her romantic pop and electric guitar mastery to the intimate surroundings of the Elgar Room on Wednesday 12 May.

The Hush series preserves the Royal Albert Hall's status as both an inclusive and accessible venue and one with the versatility to transcend the cultural generations. Having launched in February 2008, Hush has seen a succession of emerging artistsperform on its stage including Little Boots, Johnny Flynn, Cocknbullkid, Ben Onono, Roxy Rawson, Orphans & Vandals, Alan Pownall, Slow Club and Pete and the Pirates.Mark Pearse, New Programming Co-ordinator at the Royal Albert Hall, said ‘Since Hushlaunched in 2008, and as part of our new programming initiative, we have constantlystrived to support up and coming artists and give them a platform in the music industry.
