X-Files star Gillian Anderson is the latest actress to take on the role of Nora in the controversial play A Doll's House by Henry Ibsen. The play is scheduled for a limited Spring run next year at the Donmar Warehouse in a new adaptation by Zinny Harris.

A Doll's House was first performed in 1879 and tells the story of Nora Helmer and her husband Torvald. Nora is happy with her settled life as wife and mother until a figure from the past shows up with information that could destroy her life and her reputation with her husband. While making desperate attempts to keep the information private Nora begins to question her life and marriage and if the family she has created is really what she wanted for herself.

Gillian Anderson has won an Emmy, Golden Globe and SAG award for her portrayal of Agent Scully in the popular drama The X-Files. Her film credits include The Last King of Scotland, How to Lose Friends and Alienate People, and House of Mirth. She made her West End debut in 2002 in Michael Weller's What the Night Is For.
