What’s going down?

In typical Glee style, the episode opens with the ever fabulous Kurt, showing us his moves to Beyoncé’s Single Ladies with fellow club members Tina and Brittany as back-up. Impressed we may be; his father is not and finds it hard to hide his anger towards his son’s spandex-wearing ways. Kurt declares that his new unitard is simply ‘jock chic’ and that all the guys on the football team wear them now. To try and disguise his sexuality from his father as best he can, he tells him that he’s the team’s new kicker and that Tina is his girlfriend.

In the Schuester household, Will and Terri practise birthing techniques under the guidance of Terri’s equally annoying sister Kendra. In just a few months' time she’s going to be "pushing a watermelon out of her bow howdy," or so the expectant father thinks, still being unaware that there is no bun in the oven. With Will out of the room. Terri confides in her sister about the lack of baby. Instead of suggesting she come clean and tell Will, the pair agree to open a whole can of crazy and try and get a baby through whatever means possible.

Over at McKinley, lunch time chat turns to the topic of Sue and her new segment ‘Sue’s Corner’ on the nightly regional news, with Will, Emma and Ken all in disbelief that anyone would let her unleash her vicious tongue to the masses. Advocating corporal punishment within schools, she tells the people of Ohio, "yes, we cane" because "that’s how Sue Cs it."

Will sparks unrest in Glee club, as he takes Rachel’s solo, the Broadway classic ‘Tonight’, away from her and gives it to Tina, despite her "deep personal connection"  to the role of Maria "since the age of one." Will refuses to relent, cueing another storm-out from Miss Berry.

We see Kurt ask for a favour from Finn. "Thanks, but I already have a date to the prom," is his response and however much we sense that he would like a date off Finn, he actually needs him to get him an ‘audition’ for the football team. This shouldn’t seem too hard a task, considering that they’re the worst team in the state. At first reluctant to put his helmet on as it will mess up his hair, he soon gets into it after he brings Beyoncé on to the field, and to everyone’s dismay kicks the ball between the two posts, giving him a place on the team.

After discovering that some of her Cheerios are now also members of Glee, the local news station calls Sue’s ability to win nationals into question. If she wants to keep her job, she’s going to have make sure that she wins, taking down Glee club in the process.

Shocker of the week comes in the form of baby drama number two, when Quinn announced to Finn that she’s pregnant. He questions how she can be when they’ve never actually had sex but she insists that he simply didn’t do a good enough job of thinking about the mail man and that she’s been told "a hot tub is the perfect temperature for sperm." We later learn however that it was in fact Finn’s best friend Puck who popped her cherry and is therefore the baby daddy. It also appears that things are not completely finished between Puck and Quinn.

Sue pays Sandy a visit to what is quite possibly the most disturbing house ever. She offers him the position of the school’s Art Administrator, giving him complete control over all the arts programmes in the school, including Glee. Why would Figgins ever let such a creepy pervert back in to the school? Blackmail, of course, as Sue threatens to post a video of him working for ‘Mumbai Air’ on Youtube.

With Sandy back in place the pair sees the best course of action to destroy Glee is by luring Rachel away. How will they do so? "Liza Minnelli. Celine Dion." The pair plans to stage their own version of Cabaret, with all auditionees singing a song by the diva herself. Cut to Rachel belting out ‘Taking Chances.’ As if there was any ever doubt that she would land the lead.

Will tries to convince Rachel to stay with the club but her lack of popularity and a chance to be the main attraction proves too big an opportunity to pass up on. We finally get to hear Tina sing as she showcases her talents with ‘Tonight.’ Though talented she may be it is clear that she is no match for Rachel, as everyone realises to get her back Tina will have to give up her solo.

A tearful Finn then bursts in and reveals to Will that Quinn is pregnant. He turns to Will for some fatherly advice. He had always hoped to get out of this town and go on to bigger and better things but having knocked up his girlfriend that prospect is looking less likely. His only hope now is getting a football scholarship but it still remains that the team are hopeless. Having seen Kurt at tryouts he asks Will to help the team ‘loosen up’ and learn how to dance in order to win more games.

However Terri comes up with a different solution to the baby situation. Quinn should give her baby to the Schusters, leaving everything fine and dandy, or so it would appear.

As the episode draws to a close, we see Kurt in his first game for the football team. They finally win their first game for months but only after the entire team perform the whole ‘Single Ladies’ routine. After watching Kurt at the game, his father and he finally reconnect, allowing Kurt to come out to his Dad. Expecting him to be upset, it’s a sweet moment when he tells him that he’s known since he was three when all he wanted for his birthday "was a pair of sensible heels."

The game has also brought three new members to Glee from the football team, including Puck, giving Will the magic number of 12. However, we end as Rachel informs the club that she has indefinitely quit, in order to be Sally Bowles.

11 o’clock number

Despite the lack of musical numbers this week Rachel’s rendition of Celine Dion’s ‘Taking Chances’  has to be my favourite performance of hers so far. Lea Michele is a flawless singer and she delivers more and more each week.

Quote of the week

Sue, actually delivering a positive message for once, in her own way, of course: "There's not much of a difference between a stadium full of cheering fans and an angry crowd screaming abuse at you. They're both just making a lot of noise. How you take it is up to you. Convince yourself they're cheering for you. You do that, and some day they will. And that's how Sue Cs it."

Final thoughts

What on earth will Glee club do now without their main star? It remains to be seen if there’s anyone who can step up to the plate. Can Terri’s crazy plan to take Quinn’s baby and pass it off as hers and Will’s really work? Also I can’t have been the only one to notice the embrace between Will and Emma after the football team won their game. Come on, Will, dump the crazy bitch!
