Full Casting Announced for the Premiere of Bryony Lavery's New Adaptation of BRIGHTON ROCK

Pilot Theatre and York Theatre Royal announce full casting for their forthcoming touring production of Bryony Lavery's new adaptation of Graham Greene's iconic novel Brighton Rock.

Brighton Rock's exciting cast will feature Jacob James Beswick (People, Places and Things, Headlong/National Theatre; Peter Pan, Regents Park Open Air Theatre) as Pinkie; Gloria Onitiri (Caroline, or Change, Chichester Festival Theatre; The Taming of the Shrew, Shakespeare's Globe Theatre; The Grinning Man, Bristol Vic, The Bodyguard and The Lion King, West End and most recently as Cruela De Vil in 101 Dalmations, Birmingham Rep) as Ida; Sarah Middleton (The Hypocrite, RSC/Hull Truck Theatre; National Treasure, Channel 4 and Love, Lies and Records, BBC One) as Rose; Angela Bain (Cyrano, Northern Broadsides and Made in Dagenham, (Queen Theatre, Hornchurch) as Spicer; Marc Graham (Flood Part Two: Anbudance and Flood Part Four: New World, Slung Low) and All We Ever Wanted was Everything (Middle Child/Paines Plough Roundabout) as Hale/Cubbitt; Chris Jack (Our Town, Royal Exchange Theatre and The Two Nobel Kinsmen, RSC) as Phil/Dad; Jennifer Jackson (Neverland, Battersea Arts Centre and Tour) as Crab and Colleoni; Dorian Simpson (Persuasion, Royal Exchange Theatre) as Dallow and Shamira Turner (Golem, 1927 and Doppelgänger, Battersea Arts Centre) as Sylvie/Prewitt.

Brighton Rock is directed by Pilot Theatre's new artistic director Esther Richardson, designed by Sara Perks (American Idiot, Arts Theatre and Sweeney Todd, Mercury Theatre) and with lighting by Aideene Malone (Peter Pan and Jane Eyre, National Theatre).

The production will feature a specially composed soundtrack by the Northern Irish artist, singer and electronic composer and member of The Magnetic North, Hannah Peel. She will also perform in the production during the opening run at York Theatre Royal.

Brighton Rock will open at York Theatre Royal from 16 February to 3 March and then tours to Brighton, Colchester, Hull, Cheltenham, Winchester, Watford, Birmingham, Newcastle, Mold, Derby and finally The Lowry Salford Quays.
