Casting is now complete for the the Biblical-inspired musical Children of Eden, by Wicked composer Stephen Schwartz and John?Caird, which is being revived in the West End for one night only in a spectacular star-studded charity gala at the Prince of Wales?Theatre on Sunday 29 January.
 
Waylon Jacobs (Japeth), Tom Pearce (Noah), Jamie Papanicolaou (Shem), Daniella Bowen (Aysha) and Daisy Tonge (Aphra) will join the previously announced Louise?Dearman, Brenda Edwards, Gareth Gates, Russell Grant, Laura Samuels, Aaron Sidwell, Anton Stephans, Oliver Thornton, John Wilding and special guest star Kerry Ellis.
 
Waylon Jacobs is in The Lion King in the West?End, where he understudies Simba and is ‘singer swing’ covering all the male singing parts. Tom Pearce appeared in Gale Edward’s first UK tour of Jesus Christ Superstar (regularly playing the role of Jesus of Nazareth). He has had a long association with Les Miserables, including two West End runs, and productions in Belfast, Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Finland, playing many roles, including Montparnasse and Enjolras. Daniella Bowen’s West End credits inlude Million Dollar Quartet and Dreamboats & Petticoats. Jamie Papanicolaou has just graduated from Arts Educational. Daisy Tonge was Daisy in the St Trinian's 2: The Legend of Fritton's Gold.
 
Children of Eden will be performed by a company of 75. The concert is being staged to raise awareness of the chronic and debilitating condition, Crohn’s disease and all proceeds will be donated to Crohn’s and Colitis UK.
 
Children of Eden had its world premiere at the Prince Edward Theatre on January 8, 1991. It’s a joyous and inspirational musical about parents, children and faith. Freely based on the story of Genesis, Children of Eden is a frank, heartfelt and often humorous examination of the age-old conflict between parents and children. The show delivers a bittersweet but inspiring message: that the hardest part of love is letting go.
