According to the Daily Mail, Clare Burt will take on the title role in the new musical MRS HARRIS GOES TO PARIS, adapted by Richard Taylor and Rachel Wagstaff from Paul Gallico's 1958 novel.

The show will run at the Crucible Theatre in Sheffield beginning May 18. Daniel Evans directs.

Gallico's humorous series centers on London charwoman Ada Harris, who, obsessed with her employer's haute couture wardrobe, decides to go to the House of Dior in Paris to find herself an evening gown.

The novel was adapted as a 1992 TV movie, starring Angela Lansbury, Diana Rigg, and Omar Sharif.

Among Burt's theatre credits are COMPANY and INTO THE WOODS at the Donmar, LONDON ROAD at the National, and SUNDAY IN THE PARK WITH GEORGE, GIRLFRIENDS, THE HIRED MAN, CATS, ASPECTS OF LOVE and PASSION in the West End.
