The Gift is a hauntingly lyrical one-act drama set around the Irish borderlands, where lonely, widowed farmer Ned works his land, not so much for wealth as to wash away the days. When Belfast stranger Callum inherits a nearby farm, Ned looks forward to makingfriends with his new neighbour, only to find the other man is a reticent loner.

Recently out of prison, Callum carries a burden of guilt: the terrorist act he committedfor a cause in which he no longer believes. But as the drama unfolds, we discover he is not alone in harbouring a dark secret, for Ned has one of his own...

Eamon McDonnell writes original, challenging drama with a broadly humorousstreak. Much of his work has been staged or showcased in the UK. His latestoffering, ‘Safe House', was a sell-out success at this year's Camden Fringe. He alsocreates original ideas for TV production companies, lectures in screenwriting for London and Goldsmiths Universities, and delivers the Foundation Course in Scriptwriting for Panico Films
