Bellingham, Harvey, & Dean Lead CALENDAR GIRLS on the Road in U.K.; Opens 1/25

CALENDAR GIRLS, the new stage play by Tim Firth, adapted from his own screenplay for the 2003 film, will undertake a second national tour opening at the Chichester Festival Theatre for two weeks on 25 January 2010.

The play will star Lynda Bellingham (the original star of CALENDAR GIRLS on stage and recent contestant on Strictly Come Dancing) as ‘Chris - Miss October', Jan Harvey (most famous as the star of Howard's Way for six series) as ‘Annie - Miss February', Letitia Dean (star of EastEnders and Strictly Come Dancing) as ‘Cora - Miss July', Gemma Atkinson (Hollyoaks, I'm A Celebrity Get me Out of Here and CALENDAR GIRLS in the West End) as ‘Celia - Miss September', Debbie Chazen (best-known as a regular in Doctor Who, a star of Tittybangbang and Psychoville and a recent star of CALENDAR GIRLS in the West End) as ‘Ruth - Miss November', Judith Barker (recently in Heartbeat, The Royal and Waterloo Road) as ‘Jessie - Miss January', Kathryn Rooney (also a star of CALENDAR GIRLS in the West End) as ‘Elaine' and Michael Peluso (son of Lynda Bellingham making his stage debut) as the photographer ‘Lawrence'.

CALENDAR GIRLS, which remains a huge West End hit at the Noël Coward Theatre, following a record-breaking tour after its original opening at the Chichester Festival Theatre in September 2008, will then visit The Lowry Salford (8 - 20 February), Birmingham Hippodrome (22 - 27 February), Southend Cliffs Pavilion (1 - 6 March), Leeds Grand (8 - 13 March), Milton Keynes Theatre (15 - 27 March), Theatre Royal Newcastle (29 March - 10 April) and the Sheffield Lyceum (12 - 24 April). CALENDAR GIRLS is directed by Hamish McColl, who won an Olivier Award for writing and performing The Play What I Wrote in the West End. CALENDAR GIRLS has a set by Robert Jones, with lighting by Malcolm Rippeth, costumes by Emma Williams and music by Steve Parry.

CALENDAR GIRLS is produced by David Pugh & Dafydd Rogers.

CALENDAR GIRLS, which has broken all box office records at the Noël Coward Theatre in London with takings of well over £190,000 gross per week, will continue to play with its current cast until 31 October, prior to a new cast led by Julie Goodyear steps in through January 3, as previously reported.
