Barb Jungr and John McDaniel Sing The Beatles and Sting

In this collaboration and following their new year USA shows, internationally acclaimed and award winning vocalist Barb Jungr and Emmy and Grammy award-winning American pianist, orchestrator and musical director John McDaniel, will be performing 7 very special dates in the UK.

On February 9 in Corby and February 13 in Thorpe Bay, Southend, Barb and John will perform Come Together Barb Jungr and John McDaniel sing The Beatles - a programme of dynamically and innovatively re-arranged Beatles songs, which allows Jungr to use her magical ability to revitalise these well loved and familiar numbers by theatrically dramatising the lyrics. For Jungr too the show has a personal touch, having grown up only 40 miles from Liverpool she has followed the lives of the Fab Four with excitement and intrigue.

Premiering in London on February 15-17, February 22 in Newbury and February 24 in Delph is their highly acclaimed show Float Like A Butterfly Barb Jungr and John McDaniel sing Sting . Performing work from Sting's staggeringly hit-laden songbook, which he has culminated after 40 years as both a member of The Police and as a solo artist.

Across her 40-year career, Barb Jungr has been internationally celebrated for combining immaculate vocal technique, impassioned performance, piercing insight and beautifully unexpected musical arrangements to reinterpret European and American popular songs in a manner, which The New York Times described as "revelatory". As a live performer, Barb is always funny, and often hilarious. Originally emerging from the alternative cabaret scene of the 1970s and 80s, and cutting her teeth alongside the likes of Julian Clary, Alexei Sayle and Arnold Brown, her ability to deliver shows which are utterly alive, and spontaneously respond to the world in and outside the performance space, is second to none.

When paired with Barb, Broadway legend John McDaniel is a pianist, singer, arranger and partner in banter. He has worked on Broadway as a conductor, musical director, and musical / vocal arranger and he is also the go-to accompanist for the very top tier of cabaret stars in the USA including Betty Buckley, Tyne Daly, Brooke Shields and Patti LuPone. He was Musical Director and bandleader on The Rosie O'Donnell Show for seven years. However, Barb has contractually forbidden him from mentioning any of those performers to her, either onstage, in the dressing room, or on the night bus home.

In their shows together, Barb and John collide British cabaret nous with American musical theatre chutzpah and two phenomenal songbooks, to generate an embarrassment of talent and expertise. These are unique events.
